Description
The holder of this qualification has demonstrated the skills and knowledge to personally paddle a Kayak on Grade 2 Whitewater. This is often a prerequisite for Adventure races, like the Coast to Coast in New Zealand.
Designed for those paddlers that seek to ensure that they have the knowledge and skills to safely and competently undertake a journey without Guide or instructor supervision.
Course Duration: Training Course is normally 2 days, Assessment:1 day but we will be squeezing it into 2 longer days

Pre requisites: NIL, However to gain the qualification a minimum logbook is required, these requirements can be found in the Assessment Guidelines. Please pay particular attention to the logbook requirements that need to be logged in your Paddlelog
You will also need to register with Paddle NSW
Equipment: Bring your own or a Kayak including Spraydeck, lifejacket, helmet, paddle and dry bag can be hired here
Assessment:
- Practical: Completed through the training/assessment day
- Quiz: An online quiz is made available to participants upon registration that needs to be completed prior to the practical program
Included in the cost is $20 Paddle Australia registration fee that provides 3 years membership.
Byo food, paddling and camping gear or accommodation is available nearby
