1 day Guided Kayak trip

Description

We are offering kayakers to join a guided day trip as part of our 3 day whitewater skills course. You must have been in a kayak on whitewater before and have the basic skills to wet-exit if you capsize as well as an understanding of river features and how to swim down whitewater rapids safely (Big river Canoe Club equivalent to BR2) .

This trip will be 15kilometres on the Nymboida river, on grade 1 and 2 water, featuring one grade 3 rapid. This is a great opportunity to see a new section of river with someone who knows what lies around the corner, and get technique refinement and coaching along the way. A good stepping stone for future river exploration in the region – particularly on the longest Whitewater canoe and kayak trail in Australia – which includes the river system where we will host this trip.

Equipment: Included in the course is hire of a kayak including a spraydeck, paddle, lifejacket, helmet and dry bag. You can bring your own if you have one/ would prefer. Please let us know if you are taller or larger than average as we will need to bring a different kayak for your size. Our main fleet is multi-fit and able to support most sizes under 6 ft and less than 100kg comfortably.
